Dobbes Family Winery is today, much of what it was at our beginning, a small, family-run winery in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. We just define family a little differently these days. At Dobbes, our family extends to those who we welcome into our lives and share a part of ourselves with. From those who visit our tasting room in Dundee, to our team, to our longstanding growing partners, to those who share a bottle of Dobbes wine from afar, we welcome you into our extended family with open arms (and an open bottle of wine). While most of our wines are made from two French grape varieties, Pinot Noir and Syrah, our unique terroir and thoughtful winemaking produce wines that are distinctively Oregon. These are wines that welcome you in and invite you to make yourself at home.
Windswept ridges and fertile valley floors, the terroir of Oregon is as varied as it is breathtaking. We partner with vineyards across the state and craft wines that showcase every inch of Oregon. Hand-picked and hand-sorted, our wines are made with purpose in mind– our single vineyard Pinot Noirs highlight the unique characteristics of a single site, while our cuvées evoke the defining characteristics of a region and vintage. Every decision we make from in the vineyards, to winemaking, to our tasting room is intentional. We are generous with our time and our resources, giving back to our company and community in as many ways as we can. PROGRESS
There is no shortcut to the art of running a wine business and the craft of winemaking. Both require patience, curiosity, innovation, and the careful balance of new-world thinking and tradition. We respect our roots but are unafraid to take risks. We are proud to be rooted in tradition and unbound by convention.
Through strategic nonprofit partnerships, we extend our ethos of care and support beyond the vineyards. Our staff are asked to select a personally meaningful nonprofit committed to taking care of our community and impacting and bettering others. We work with these nonprofits year-round, donating a portion of the proceeds from a rotating list of wines each quarter. With every sip, you stand in support with Dobbes.

With a focus on our short and long-term goals and resource utilization, our sustainability efforts help maintain agricultural lands and contribute to our community’s well-being. The Low Input Viticulture and Enology (LIVE) program is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports environmentally and socially responsible wineries through third-party certification and educational programming. With sustainable landscaping designed to encourage the growth of native plants as well as healthy soil, air, and water, we are committed to maintaining our standing as a LIVE Certified winery. Through its peer-reviewed certification and accreditation program, Salmon Safe is leading the movement to implement farming practices and developments that protect water quality, maintain watershed health, and restore habitat.
We have joined forces with PGE to provide wind-powered electricity for our operations. This is a clean and renewable energy source that is abundant. Through this partnership and since our enrollment, we have avoided emitting over 1 million lbs. of CO2 into the atmosphere, a significant step toward our goal of reducing our environmental footprint.
Over 20 years ago, our founder Joe Dobbes embarked on the journey of creating Dobbes Family Estate, a testament to his passion for crafting exceptional wines.
